This is an evening of celebration where locals and visitors gather in the iconic downtown Punda to celebrate this island’s unique cultural heritage and traditions. Punda’s narrow streets and alleys are alive with vibrant color drawing visitors in for dinner, drinks, shopping and socializing.
Wandering the streets of Punda, you might chance upon cul-de-sacs that open up to a charming café or two decorated with the works of some of Curacao’s talented artists. Island music fills the air, and there are many enchanting places to stop for a refreshment and absorb some of the entourage filled with culture and history. Stop, look and listen. You will be easily enchanted by the sights and sounds that surround you. Walking in one of the most beautiful inner cities of the world, it is a magical time to enjoy the Punda Vibes atmosphere.
Younger families enjoy the fun kids activity area on Wilhelminapark. Children of all ages can be found enjoy the fun of eating giant sticks of bright pink fairy floss, or having their face-painted.
From 6PM to 10 PM, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere filled with live music, late night shopping, and lots of dancing and laughter. Join in when the traditional local folkloric dancers invite you to dance! Start your evening at one of the terraces on the Handelskade taking in the breathtaking sunset, and marvel at the beautifully lit historic buildings.
Many shops and restaurants are open later, sounds of live jazz on the streets and acoustic guitars filter through the alleys while traditional dancers weave through the streets, inviting onlookers to join in the fun. Explore the charming art walk on Windstraat, where local artists come to showcase their work, and connect with each other. The craft market on historic Gomezplein is also very popular; with local artisans displaying their crafts outdoors and art galleries open late proudly showcasing most talented local artists on colourful walls.
Continue your stoll to the impressive backdrop of the iconic UNESCO buildings along the Handelskade, to meet the famous Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge and enjoy the spectacular fireworks show every Thursday over the harbour at 8.15 PM.
